I’ve been thinking about how to relax in this information-driven society.
The reason for this is that I constantly question whether it’s truly right to read the same news and newspapers daily. With the overwhelming amount of negative news these days, we need to consider the downsides of constantly feeding our minds with “padded news.”
If we can switch our mindset to think of “padded news” as “bad news,” then maybe it’s fine. But humans are creatures who output what they input. While it’s okay to absorb articles and images into your brain, we should also think about how this output affects those around us.
Some people mainly watch entertainment, sports, or showbiz, while others focus on culture, hobbies, and lifestyle. And some only follow economics, society, or historical news. And that’s perfectly fine — there are all kinds of people. There’s no need to summarize it all, nor should we try to.
When people use the news to share their thoughts, I think it’s because they feel a need to convey something. In this era, where individuals are expected to discern whether the news or articles they consume are valuable or just garbage, we need to be cautious not to be manipulated by machines. That, I believe, is the key to living a relaxed life.
I’m just talking to myself here, but this is truly important. The responsibility that comes with sharing something. Striving for a kind society where no one gets hurt. Without flaunting our knowledge. Without acting superior. Just taking it easy, calmly and with ease.
Women tend to chat a lot, so they’ll talk about anything, right? Many could probably spend hours in a café. I’m a bit too logical, so my conversations tend to only match with a few people, which is why I prefer being alone so as not to bother anyone. But I did go to this café with my family.
Near the Sequoia Tree-lined Avenue in Shiga Prefecture, there’s a lovely café called Namiki Café. Inside, there’s a camping area where you can enjoy an outdoor atmosphere while sipping delicious coffee. Ah, oil painting vibes! ^-^
