人間 human

Has humanity changed at all in the last few centuries?

It feels like nothing has really changed.

We continue to wage wars and commit acts of slaughter, compete for who is the best, reject anything foreign, and create our own territories to escape from fear… none of it has changed.

No matter how much technology develops, I believe that if the fundamental nature of humanity does not change, nothing will.

Reality remains unchanged.

What were peace-loving artists thinking and contemplating as they left their works for future generations before they passed away?

I was painting while researching Japonism.

I won’t reveal it just yet, but it was likely a time when Japan, having been in isolation, found something exotic and sought to express Japanese style.

Understanding each artist’s Japonism must be quite difficult since we don’t know the Western lifestyle or environment.

However, I think it’s probably something like this. Humans can imagine, after all.

People with imagination and creativity make their work interesting.

Just knowing that such a fact exists makes me feel giddy.

Why was I born here, and why am I living here?

I am still captivated by paintings that make me ponder such questions.

I’ve become a bit of a museum enthusiast, but I can only visit local ones due to lack of funds, so I can only indulge in my imagination through various books.

Well, let’s take our time.

Last two days!

Thank you to everyone who has come to my little oil painting exhibition!

I want to continue painting while cheering myself on.
